An Attitude of Gratitude

I am grateful for sleeping on my stomach. Standing up without the need for leverage. A bladder that holds all night. Slouching. No more congestion. Non-maternity jeans. Wearing shoes other than my tennis shoes. No more weekly appointments with midwives or chiropractors. No more small talk with every person I meet with all the same questions. And so much more.(Picture taken by Jana- 36 weeks)

Some people love being pregnant. I am not one of them. Nine months is entirely too long. The anticipation kills me. I hate surprises. Once I decide I'm ready to have a kid, I am ready to have it. I don't want to wait.

I am definitely grateful not to be pregnant anymore. But I am most grateful for a body that is able to create and sustain life. (Seriously... think about it. That is AMAZING. We're all little miracles.) I am grateful for the strength I have to endure labor and delivery. I am grateful that both my pregnancies and deliveries have been complication free with no room to complain... except for that the anticipation KILLS me.

Some humor for you-

Every time I caught a glimpse of myself this day I thought I looked like the latest wife to join the show Sister Wives.

I will not be saving this maternity shirt or pairing plaid with this hair style ever again.

I was 39 weeks in this one.

Oh the congestion! I get that too when prego! Definitely something I am grateful to be done with. And a sister wife- that's hilarious! :) Everytime I see a baby for the first time I just can't believe the human body and what it's capable of. Skin stretching perfectly to hold a baby in, 2 cells coming together and forming life, and the fact that this little being was just inside another body. I am so grateful (now) for the ease of which I can get pregnant, and lack of complications as well. But I LOVE being prego, I hate the waiting as well, but love the "glow" and I feel more intune with my body than at any other time.

Pregnancy is a love-hate relationship for me. You look so beautiful in both pictures, but I really love the second picture!! When you pointed it out that you look like a sister wife, I couldn't argue. But I think you look so pretty! Very natural. And I like the plaid for some reason. (I normally hate that trend.) After I had Arthur, I was overjoyed by my new lying on my stomach freedom! I can't wait for that after this one!

I don't know why the congestion when pregnant... But stops when I have the baby. My sister, April, gets it too.

And bianca... We can't compare bellies when were completely different builds! You're so tiny of course you're going to look bigger sooner! Just embrace it! You look great.

And i want to be a better blogger... I will try Evaly!

You look great in both pics & the sister wife comment cracked me up too.

Could we stop by tomorrow sometime? Maybe 12:15? I'll call you.

Oh yeah, and I agree that pregnancy is rough b/c it's hard! I echo the love-hate feelings.
